The Lyon Center – History Timeline Wall

The non-profit Avow organization built a brand new Palliative and Hospice Care facility known as The Lyon Center. They broke ground in 2016 in large part due to the generosity of Thelma Lyon, who donated money to make this dream a reality.

Avow has been in service to the community for over 40 years now, thanks to founders Bruce and Glenna Hayhoe in 1983 establishing Avow as the first hospice in Collier County.

To commemorate all the milestones and support that has gone into this organization, Avow wanted to create a history timeline wall in The Lyon Center. It serves as a pillar of the mission and passion that all who have been, are, or become, a part of this community for generations to come.

Graphic design services created an Avow history timeline wall in Naples, FL.

Below are two pictures of the walls before the installation of the project. White wave panels added texture and form to help the acrylic stand-off panels “pop” off the wall adding depth to this design. What a difference color and 3D elements can do to an existing space.

Aunt Janet’s House®

The non-profit Avow organization also rolled out Aunt Janet’s House®, a converted residential house for their Avow Kids bereavement program. Avow kids provides bereavement services for children ages 5-17.

Aunt Janet’s House® was made possibly hugely in part by the generosity of Janet Cohen. This house will offer after-school services for those in need. It has a gaming area, full kitchen, art room, and more.

Therapy Room

Before Aunt Janet’s House® was renovated, Avow had turned one of their wings on an existing building into a meeting space for grieving kids. Avow needed wall graphics that would appeal to kids from a wide age range, which was a challenge in itself to not be too childish for teens but relatable and enticing for young children simultaneously. The concept was to bridge the final design by including vibrant images and inspiring messages that any age, even adults, could appreciate.
